Day 4 out of surgery
May 07, 2012
So this morning I got up and went walking for about 30mins, and I must say I feel great!
I am ready to tackle the world today. Whoever said starting your day off with exercise was really on point. I would have never thought to get up and get out before the sun comes out to just take a brisk walk. I was able to smell some of the flowers that are starting to bloom, and I was able to really look at my neighborhood without just driving by.
Now I will go get my breakfast and enjoy the rest of my day, wow I feel so rejuvinated!!!!

So today I came home after having my WLS on Friday, and I must say there's no place like home. I write these blogs to encourage myself not necessarely for others to read. When I weighed in before surgery I had lost another 3lbs so that put me at 398. It was really encouraging to see that I am focused and headed in the right direction. I've walked, and been able to do for myself, instead of going into the mode of post surgery where others expect you to depend on them. I was told that my first day of surgery would be the hardest and I must admit it was, but seeing as I made it thru that day I feel as if I can make it on this journey I've started for myself. Well until I post again happy loosing to you all.

Beware the nah sayers!
May 03, 2012
Well today is my count down to a better me; I have my "sleeve" on tomorrow (5/4/12), and I'm actually looking forward to it. there have been some supporters along the way,
, and there has been some nah sayers as well
. I've come to realize that when you make a major decision about your life, you have to be sure that you're strong enough to handle the nah sayers. I've been asked some questions that really didn't have anything to do with my procedure; the questions were more along the line of will I continue to love my husband after my weight is gone?!?!?!??
, can you tell me what loving my husband has to do with my weight? the best one yet was okay so will you begin to think that you're all that once you loose your weight
...needless to say I think I'm all that at my current weight....
, so instead of answering all the nah sayers and their ridiculous questions, I've just committed myself to stay focus on what's to come, which is a healthier, happier, me.....smoochies until I can return

My journey to an improved me
May 01, 2012
Today is the first day of the rest of my life! I am two days and an awake from my WLS and I must say I"m excited. I am getting the sleeve! What was an eye opener for me was when I was in the stores and nothing I liked fit, and on top of that I had to start wearing flip flops and tennis shoes, because other shoes didn't fit as well. Here is a picture of me today @ 401lbs....wow, I never thought I would let myself get this large. I always had a weight problem, but I was able to keep it under control where I would exercise and maintain a healthy diet; however, as I got older I seem to go on the yo-yo syndrone of diets. I've done weight watchers, slim fast, diet pills, low carb diet, and although I would originally loss about 20lbs, that was all it took for me to think I had it all under control, and before I knew it, I was back up in my weight with the added 10 to 15 lbs.So as I begin this journey with the WLS, I look forward to putting into use all the teachings that were given to me by my surgical team.
