I have spent my whole life battling, with my weight. I have gotten down to a size 10 but short lived. I am ready for this. Wish I had looked into years ago.
5/24/o4 I have second consult with my surgeon today. I started this journey on april 14, just going thru the steps. Hoping all goes quickly.Hopefully will get a date soon. Been to phychological eval and nutrition assessment. Will know more later to update. Getting very excited about having this done.
5/26 I have my upper Endoscopy on June 3 for consult and blood test to set up and gallbladder sonogram a reg phyisical and letter of support from my pcp provider and then I should get a date if all is well. For some reason I thought there would be more testing involved I may ask to be on the safe side. Want to have this sergury done but scared at the same time.
6/5 I have gotten my dates for my bloodwork and other tests I need to have completed before I can get a date so looks like another month before I can get a date. And the surgeons office told me I have the kind of insurance that doesnt need pre approval. They will either pay after its done or not so we wait and see. Which doesnt make sense to me. I would think for the cost of this surgery they would want to make sure they were getting paid. So I'm pretty sure they already know my insurance will pay or they wouldnt be going ahead with all the pre-testing.
6/14 Went to my pcp for a routine checkup next is all the other fun things that I have to have done on the 23rd fun fun can't wait. Hoping soon I will have a date. Now I'm finding out the surgeon wants you to take a written test. Oh well, I've read enought on this surgery to write a book so I will be fine. Just one more thing to go through. Till next time.
6/22 Yippie talked with insurance today they said they would cover 100 percent of surgery, So happy now. Hopefully everything goes good after test tomorrow and I am given a date soon. I am so ready I cannot wait to be losing and feeling better. Will update as soon as I have news.
6/24 thought I would drop a line or two, All tests went well Can't remember much from the scope down the throat they sedate you for that one, thank god remember gaging but thats it and only breifly remember it, so all and all not to bad for the tests now waiting for them to send to my doc and getting the call with a date. Everything was good said I had a slight herniea but can be fixed during surgery but I'm thinking I should hold off on that so I can get a TT later down the road. I'm going to look more into that. ok will update later getting more and more excited and hoping this will happen for me soon. Keep trying to see myself on the losing side cant wait til I'm there. 7/12 Its been awhile thought I would update. Called Dr,M's office today they still have not received all the preop test results as of yet, so I called my PCP provider and they said they would send them over. So I'm still waiting for a date soon I hope. It's looking like end of August now but that is ok, fall is better for me. Just want to get on the losing side. It will be here before I know it. But not soon enough! I read everyones profile and see all the losers out there and I want to be be there. Never thought I would be in a hurry to have surgery done. I am so ready. Until next time.
This is all I could find of my profile so the rest is pretty much text from everyone else's. I had my surgery on Aug. 30, 2004 I had open I was in pain for about a week then the staples came out and I healed pretty well. I have had problems with nausea and still do from time to time but it keeps me in tack to how much I eat and what I can eat. I am now 2yrs and 3months out and doing well weight its 132 to 129 holding that 5 to 10 lb mark. If I see the scales start to go up I back off what I eat for awhile probably not the best way but it works for me.
Dec, 2,2006 How time flys. It's been over 2 yrs now. I have lost my profile so will down the road try to redo what I can remember but will take some time to do. My life has never been better I am very happy. My weight has stayed the same no problems with anything thank god. starting to look into plasics next month after we get thru the holidays. Eating is the same can't do alot of sweets or milk products.
Dec 31,2006 Happy Holidays "Happy New Years!" Going into my 2 + yrs out and doing great. I've lost a few more lbs this holiday not sure why don't ? it either. down to size 4 holy cow Never dreamed it but loving it. I'm planning to put some updated pics up soon want my daughter to take pics tonight all dressed up for the new year. Yeah can't wait. I love buying clothes now. Its my favorite hobby LOL. Hope all are planning to have a great new years. Life in the city is fast paced always on the go seems like. Our christmas was great. I know my future with my new hubby will be exciting also. Before this surgery I never thought my life could be so fulfilling but now I have no complaints about anything. Life is great I don't take anything for granted I work hard to keep myself intact and keep the wieght off I never want to be overweight again. I want a tt so bad my husband changed jobs so the insurance is different so not sure if it will cover it or not but going to try anyways. Time just goes bye so fast nowadays. Always busy. But anyways I want to wish everyone a happy new year!! 2007
Jan 28 2007 How Time flies almost Feb already. Doing Great gain a couple take it back off. I eat what I want but have to be careful we went out to dinner last night for our 1 yr anniversary can't believe I've been married a yr already. Life is good with 5 kids and can get hetic at times. Plan on going upstate (home) next weekend for a few days to visit friends and family. I miss home but I guess this is home for now. City life really isn't my life I make the best of it. I miss the country with yards and gardens here you have a patch of grass and sidewalks and pavement not very pretty. My son plans on moving down here with us and joining a gym so inspiration I have someone to go to a gym with and boy I need to but didnt want to go alone. They have a bally's a few blocks away and with my husbands insurance you get a membership discount so that is the plan on that. Having someone to work out with will make it easier to go. I posted new pics Still want a tt but put on the back burner for now. It will happen within the year I'm hoping time will tell. Will try to keep more updated as I process thru the journey of a tt.
March 9, 2007 Wow how time flies. weight mantaining nothing gained nothing lost. Finally joined the gym with my son and girlfriend it is actually fun. Joined bally's they have a pool jucuzzi steam room and souna. plus the excersize equipment. I work out 3x's a week do cardio then the toning machines to try and tone up some of this lose skin dont know if its possible but worth the try. I really do enjoy it wasnt sure if I would but I like going and look foward to it. hoping to see something in the next month. I'm not trying to really lose any weight just tone up some. Life is good have your ups and downs. Like everyone, I wouldn't change a thing. I love clothes and buying them, and feeling good about myself for the first time in my life.
June 5th how time flys. still holding the same. Life is great went to florida sat and back on Sunday just went to look at a house we made a purchase offer on. Hoping they take our offer. 4 bedroom 3 bath beautful house. We do not plan on leaving the ny area for 2 to 4 yrs but plan to use the house for vacations until we make our move. We should hear something from the bank tomorrow or Thursday. Life is too good. Have a good job a great loving hubby and of coarse kids (lol). Just bought myself a 2007 jeep wrangler cant wait to drive around with the top down. everything is going well for the first time in my life. I walk tall now not trying to hide myself. I feel great better than ever. Anyone looking into WLS Its not a quick answer to a great future or life you have to work at your weight and go for what you want out of your life. Maintaining the weight is the hard part its so easy to eat wrong you have to watch yourseft keep on the scales. I try to stay in the 5lb range. August will be 3 yrs hard to believe. Time goes bye so quickly now always busy. Well thats my update for now will try to keep up to date more often.
