Hello. I am currently working towards my goal of WLS and my insurance company has a program I am currently enrolled in and must complete before I am given authorization. I injured my back May 2007 and did not get to see a specialist until October 2007. By the time I saw the specialist I had gained 50 pounds from inactivity and help from steroid medications. I needed back surgery but the doctor said I was too big and it was too risky, a year later, unemployed, and 289 lbs., I found myself crying in my doctor's office and she recommended I attendd the classes for bariatric surgery and I could make my mind up later. I have already chosen my surgeons; I will be having the surgery done by Pacific Bariatric in San Diego, CA. I will be done with all the classes on October 6th, then I am given the authorizion for surgery and begin my journey with the surgeons. The only other reqirement I have not yet met is I have to reach my pre-surgery goal of 259lbs. Today I am 267lbs, and have hit a plateau, but I am confident I will make it.
