I haven't had much success with dieting over the years. Name any diet and I probably tried it once if not twice. I've carried an excess of 150 pounds for the last twelve years. Strange thing is my only other medical problem is high cholesterol. I'm lucky to have dodged so many other complications that are associated with morbid obesity. About one year ago I started having palpitations and was sent to a cardiologist. He was astonished that I had gone on for so long at over 300 lbs and no doctor ever discussed with me the possibility of WLS. Long story short, I researched even though I know about RNY and Lap-band surgeries. Six family members have had either one or the other. I'm not 100% certain that I want surgery so for now I'm following a doctor supervised low calorie plan that uses high protein and moderate carbohydrate foods. So far so good.
My story is ongoing so I will update often.
