I had my Rou-en-y Gastric Bypass Surgery on May of 2006. I had complications from the get go, my wound had a hematoma, which burst in the middle of the night and spilled blood all over into my bed(I woke up to a fountain of blood SHOOTING out of my stomach about 4 days out of surgery) So I was told it would heal on it's own..which of course it didn't, but don't let that get me DOWN!:):) So after about a week, I noticed the teeny hole in my incision was becoming MUCH larger and was STILL leaking all day and night, so I went back to the surgeon(who I don't blame for this at all, he was VERY sweet and upset about this!!) and he opened it up a little bit with a scalpel(owwww!!) and then he packed it with gauze and some dressing to try to heal it from the inside out, SINCE the hole turned out to be about 2 inches deep. So..yada yada yada, about 3 months passed and the hole never healed, and then my surgeon go me approved for a Negative Pressure Vaccum, that we put into the wound to suck at it with negative pressure to encourage it to heal itself. So for 2 months I walk around with this medical tubing sticking out of my body 24/7 only to have it changed 2xweek by the surgeon( mind you I was in his office 3-6 times a week for 7 months).THEN, It healed but OPENED BACK UP 2 wks later then he decided to put me under and do surgery on it to clean it out and start all over with a big hole and have it try to heal, WELL when they were in there, they found out I had an MRSA Staph Infection the whole time, which is why I didn't heal, so I was quarantined and put on heavy duty meds for 2 months.out of work etc..then I finally healed when the infection went away. Fell free to ask more but i'm out of room here!! So now I have lost a total of 135 pounds, NOW I'm pregnant ( I was once told I was infertile) and couldn't be happier..so now i'm here...if ya wanna talk..lemme know!
