Highland Hospital
"The first day I stayed I was not impressed with my RN getting to me 30-45 mins after request for things like pain medication and she was mostly absent for the entirety of her shift with me- I made few requests so I didn't think I was being a pain. I was able to change my mind about my care when I got a great couple of RN's who genuinely showed concern for my comfort and well-being. Patient techs were attentive but not always good at problem-solving a situation. I didn't think I would be staying as long as I did- and when my roommate there decided she would frequently bump up the heat (I'm talking like 85) it became unbearable and I sat with wet washcloths and a propped up fan to cool off. Staff was able to find the fan in a short time- I just wished someone had collaborated with the roommate to request the heat be turned down. Highland is not an awful hospital- I think a lot of people make it a pretty good place and the personal attention they put into it can make things go so much smoother. I can't stress enough- go with the private room if you can afford it!"
