Hi, My name is Melody I am a single mother of 3 beautiful daughters, Amanda age 22, Ashley age 20 and Whittney age 15. I have had several different medical issues and over the years have went from 125 to 260. It was a terrible thing to see myself in this light. I loved to walk and spend time with my girls and do things from fishing to hiking to swimming and sledding as we live in the Midwest. I always enjoyed the outdoors but as the the last few years went on so did the weight and my enjoyment to do things went away and being seen in public did the same as I felt I was an inbarresment to my girls and did not want to make them feel ashamed of their mother. I went from this happy go lucking mother to a depressed isolated human being. SO I decided to do the surgeory and find the best that I could I did lots of research on the doctors in my area and Found Dr. Garren and Dr. Gould they were so helpful and amazing that I felt fully confiendent in their abilities. I had the surgery on Feb 16, 2005 and have not have one sing regret about it. The staff and Dr. Garren and Dr. Gould were amazing. I have all my check up and met all the things you need to do. I am a year and half out and have lost 120 lbs and love every minute of it. My girls are so happy but at times say mom we miss the big teddy bear you to hug but they and my extended family, my brothers, and sister-in-laws and my few close friends have been nothing but supportive and I could have not done this with out their uncondional support and love. I will continue to do what is needed and keep on the journey. and no matter what never regret the choice I made to make a better life for myself and girls.
