I got approved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  My Doctors office staff is the bomb!  After my last appointment, I contacted them to inform them that I had finished my last appointment for the insurace.  They did not waste any time requesting my files and submitting the info to my insurance company.  Within a week or so, I got the answer that I had been waiting for.  My surgery date is scheduled for August 11th.  Wish me luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After seeing the approval/denial rate from my insurance company, I'm felling really optimistic about the outcome.  I am also ready to submit a second letter if I have to.  I have been researching this procedure for about a year now and I am really determined to do this.  

I am finished with all of my insurance requirements and praying that Avmed approves me for this surgery.  My WLS doctors office is taking care of submitting all the paperwork, which is great.  My last appointment was on June 10, 2009 and it's now June 23, 2009.  I am hoping to hear from them soon.  Wish me luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
