It is been an AMAZING year !! i am down 179 pounds my diabetes is gone.... my high blood pressure is gone, i have normal cholesterol ..... i am almost normal,, i wear a size 14 i have never in life worn a size 14 ... i can walk , i can do almost anything i want .. i have had to play with a few vitamins but nothing major and nothing that cannot be fixed .. I am so still so so very thankful i did this my life has changed forever in ways words cannot explain,, Rice pasta and bread and i are no longer friends but i am ok with that if it needs to be like that those were the foods that i went to for comfort and now they cause nothing but uncomfort so we are good .. 

I have the most crazy 7 months i am down 117 lbs , i have had hair fall out but it is ok , i am medication free and have been since day 3 post op, i have more energy than ever , i can do things which i would only dreamed of . I am a size 14 never can i remember being a size 14, i can walk on the treadmill for a mile and half and not have to stop, i dont fear parking far from kids school and have to walk to her classroom, i dont fear trying new things , i can cross my legs, . the only hard part is i have hit a stall and need the scale to move ... i know it is normal and i have to be patient but i want to lose my last 70 lbs like yesterday . I still hate the gym and exercise but it is vital for me to stay healthy . I have the best support system without my husband and sister and youngest son i wold not have ever been able to do this .. I am so still so Thankful for Dr John Rabkin and will forever be thankful for him and his staff, and the key people on this board that helped me with my surgery you know who you are and why i cant name you but i thank you .. THank you for giving my life back ..  

 I have had a wonderful recovery time. i have little things but no major problems thankfully. I am down 36lbs since surgery which does not seem like a lot to me but i know it is more than i would have lost in a month by myself. 

I can't say enough about the support i have found in the friends that i have and my family without having someone to turn to i could not have made it this far. 
Dr Rabkins and his office were wonderful to me both at my apointments and during surgery and my hospital stay , St mary's nurses where great as well. 

I am learning to eat the way my tummy wants to eat , and who would have ever thought such a small amount of food would ever make me stuffed. 

well i am off to shower and start my day ..

 I have finished my preop test that i have been given i think i am done . 
Labs 24 vials of blood...
chest xray had to repeat but it is clear 
EKG .... normal
echo cardiogram ? no calls from a Dr 
mammogram done 
pap  completed 
and any thing else they told me to do i have done .. so now i wait for my pre op appointment and then the count down.....
Surgery scheduled for Feb 29 and i cant wait i am so excited . 
God has been good to me he has brought a few friends into my life through this and i am thank ful for them . They know who they are .. one person i owe so much to i wont mention names but she knows i thankful for her , Susan i cant wait to hang out and get to know you more .. Ted you have been by side sense the beginning and i thank you for that .. Good luck with your surgery .... to everyone else that has helped me supported me , listened to me i thank you as well ... I will be back here soon .

 SO my deceision to have the ds was made up and i have been approved for a non kaiser surgery!! Surgery date right now is Feb 29 ,2012 i am so excited .. I am going to tomorrow to have all my blood drawn for pre op and to have an ekg done .. i can hardly wait ... 

i am so happy and excited and scared .. i have deceided to ask for ds instead of rny so i got a call from the surgeons office i was referred to , they went over all the preop stuff and procedure . Then they faxed me the preop test requirements that i am taking to pcp on friday ..DId i say i am excited .. I can't wait to get this going . They said if all goes well i could have surgery date in  4 weeks.. I am so excited . this might mean no more insulin and my mobility back .. I cant wait ...... I am so excited ... anyone who has Ds please feel free to send any advice or your expericances .. Thank you
