Highest weight 368 January 2006, started LEARN, behavior modification class 1/3/06. I looked into WLS 5 years ago...but didn't feel I was ready for it then...now I know I am...and I know the duodenal switch is the surgery for me.

I'm feeling great, going back to work 1/2 days starting next week. So glad to be done w/pureed diet! I had a couple weeks of small amounts of serous drainage from the big lap site near my belly button, otherwise pretty uncomplicated recovery...I'm so lucky and so grateful!

3rd month post op-16 more pounds 279..getting close to 100 pounds gone counting pre-op!

Ok..it's been way too long since I updated, I'm now at a year post op--and I'll do some filling in!

12th month post op--I weigh 189 pounds!!!  10 pounds this month!

WOW!  That's down 156 pounds from surgery.  I didn't ever imagine it could happen!  Labs were ok...Calcium and albumin better, Iron and vit D a little low, added iron and ADEK to my daily supplements.

18 months post op--I'm down to 176 pounds...my weight has been staying fairly stable in the past 4-5 months, but I'm still coming down in clothing sizes...working out more too.  I continue to be thrilled on a daily basis!  :)

Time for an update again!   2 year mark...staying right around 176.  Starting to seriously think about plastics.

4/06 Met w/plastic surgeon-prioritized LBL and brachioplasty for now. Insurance denied both, but did cover panni/belt lipectomy w/appeal

9/11/207 BACK TO the OR!  Panni/Belt lipectomy/bilat brachio.  Weighed 176 day of surgery.  I'm now a little over a week out and at a low of 156#.  I can't believe it!!  My arms and tummy look great...my butt seems a little flat--we'll see what happens when the swelling goes down!  :)  What a ride this journey continues to be!!!

5/30/09-Back for more plastics--this time it's BA/BL/Thighplasty.  Went well.  I'm so pleased with my results!

5/15/10-Married my best friend!
