I feel great!

It has been a little over seven months and I have lost a little over 50lbs. This has been the greatest thing that I have ever done. My insurance wouldn't approve me so I had to self-pay, but I would do it again in a heartbeat. So far it has not been as difficutl as I had anticipated, but don't think for a minute that it has been easy. I have my ups and downs. I feel great my blood pressure has lowered and I may end up being able to get of my meds. Anyone that is considering this surgery I highly recommend it!
Surgery
Feb 01, 2007
I had my surgery Monday January 29th. Dr. Wilson and the group at the Memorial Herman Surgery Center were great. The facility had just opened on January 15th and that morning I was the only patient at the time and I was getting the royal treatment. Also, because I was self pay it was about $1700 less than going right across the street to Memorial Herman Hospital. I was happy about that. The surgery went great, I left the hopsital about 3:00 and stayed over night in Houston. Tuesday morning we came home and I was put on a 2 week liquid diet because of a Heinal Hernia(sp) that Dr. Wilson repaired. Thursday was a bad day.....I had obviously not walked as much as I needed and Thursday evening I honestly thought I was going to die, the pain was so intense, but a friend here had told me about the Gas-X strips and I was pretty sure that was what the problem was and after getting the strips it took about 3 hours to finally get some relief. This morning I feel pretty good......it is only 5 days since surgery, but 8 days since I started my liquid diet and I weighed this morning and I'm down 10 lbs. I'm so excited.
Aetna Insurance

Aetna Insurance - SUCKS!!!!!!!
After talking to several people at Aetna and determining if did all all they required there should be NO reason for them to deny me....guess what...they said I needed to have a BMI & Hypertension for 5 years....Heck I could be dead with that for 5 years....so to heck with them......I'm going to self pay.....My surgery date is Jan. 29th....WOOOHOOO!!!!!!
