So much to say...plus my weights
Jul 13, 2009
Ok, I know that I haven't been posting like I was supposed to...but I've just been putting it off. So, I had my sugery on June 24th at 7am and stayed overnight in the hospital (by choice...I knew I wouldn't get up to walk around every 4 hrs on my own). Everytime I'd try to walk the corridors of the hospital, I'd get nauseated
...so I didn't do alot of walking. The next day (Thursday), I went to my parent's house and didn't leave until Monday...it was time to go lol
. So, I was really just laying around the house for days trying to get in enought fluids/protein (which I'm still having difficulty with). My surgeon told me that my bloodwork showed that I had Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori), which is a bacteria that causes stomach ulcers. I was prescribed a series of pills that I had to take for 2 week...but there were so many to take. The prescription had me taking 18 pills/day, plus my normal 2 blood pressure medicines. After 3 days, I stopped the pills. It was just too much for me to handle and they were making me sick. I had my post-op appointment on July 7th and I just told them that I couldn't do it...so we'll be looking into that again at my 6 week appt.Ok...so I guess I'll go into my weights (which I never discuss with anyone...so feel priviledged). My highest weight has been 340; at insurance approval, my weight was 334; at pre-op, my weight was 324; on surgery day, my weight was 316; 2 weeks post op, my weight was 308. I thought I would have lost more weight after 2 weeks, but I guess not. It's cool, as long as I'm under 300 at my 6 week appt. On this past Saturday (July 11), I started my Walk Away The Pounds video and I was actually able to walk a mile!! Hopefully I'll be able to make it 2 miles soon!!

Until next time...TTFN (Ta Ta For Now)
