11 Months Post-Op

Apr 19, 2009

Well, I am11 months postop and have only lost 100pounds, wearing a size 16/18 in pants and skirts, and XL in shirts.Oh wow!.  I haven't lost any weight in the last 4 months.  And I just saw some pictures of me from Easter last week and  I still look  very over weight.  In other words, to me I don't look any different than before surgery.  I am very disappointed in myself.  i thought I was looking better and maybe even sexier, but those pics just tell me the truth.  I know that 100 is no small feat but I just must try harder. I really expected to be at goal (200lbs) by now. Not yet.

6 months Post op

Dec 03, 2008

I am 6 months post op and now weight 264 from being 353 at surgery.  I feel great.  I feel sexy.  I feel happy.  the love of my family and God has gotten me through this.  I still have a long way to go but I couldn't have done it with out the tool of surgery.  Everyone asks me if it easy since I had the surgery,  I tell them NO.  You still ahve the same craving, the same wants.  You just don't have the stomach to hold it and if you try you get really sick.  People who think this is the easy way out of dieting need to sit down and talk to someone like us who has been through it or is going through it.

Good luck to everyone and blessed by our Lord Savior.

Just had my 3 month Post –op visit and they said I was doing great!  I was well above the norm for the weight loss.  The only thing is that I have to have an upper GI done because I don’t hold solid proteins well.   I mainly dry heave and I shouldn’t be doing that even if it is a few times a week.  Depending on the results they will decide if I need an endoscope done.  I just want to stop dry heaving so that I can eat better.  I’ll keep everyone posted.

3 Months Post-op

Aug 25, 2008

Well, I am 3 months post-op and have lost 63Lbs.  I think that is pretty good.  But my concern is that I am not loosing it as fast as I should.  I say this because when I weigh, my weight fluctuates by 3-4 lbs daily.  I am not sure this is normal.  I know that I shouldn’t weigh everyday but it feels soooo good when you see the weight go down.  It’s a high for me.  It was even bigger high when I cleaned my closet out from all my size 24 and 26 clothes.  I only have 18/20s and 22s in the closet; though sparse it was a huge milestone.  I can’t wait to get rid of what I have left and by they way they are hanging on me, it won’t be long.

I have my 3 month post-op appointment this week; I hope they are just as happy with my progress.  I am a little concerned with the hair loss that I am having.  When I go to wash my hair, I have enough hair come out to cover a Barbie doll’s head.  But you could never tell it on me because I have sooo much hair.

I know that I don’t update my blog enough but I “lurk” at the forums.  I hope to one day be the big loser that everyone else has become.  Everyone seems to know everyone so well, for me; it is difficult to place a comment.  But that is a personal issue that I have with forums.

Well, until next time.  Happy loosing and I will try to post pictures.

July 22nd -- 2 month surgiversary

I am awful at keeping my blog up to date but here goes.  I have lost 44lbs and 2 almost 3 dress sizes.  I couldn't be happier.  I can tolerate some solid food but not everyday.  That's ok though, yogart is still filling me up.  I am just sooooo happy with the results.  I do wish it would happen faster but that is just me wnating everything now.  I really don't miss the food except for bread.  I have always been a bread eater so that has been the hardest thing to give up.  The one thing I wish I could give up is the GAS.  OMG!!  Will this ever go away.  It is always bad at the end of the day and when I get up in the morning.  My hubby tells me he knows when I am about to getup because I alway let one rip before getting out of bed.  I know too much info but it seems to be a common side effect.  The other side effect of the surgery that I LOVE is that fact my dear hubby is always telling me that I am getting my curves back and  he loves it.  plus the other benefit is GREAT!!  I won't go into detail on that one but you can guess.  Well I gotta go for now, I will try to blog more often.  Love and God Bless everyone.

May 28th -- 1 wk Post op

May 28, 2008

I have been alittle down today.  I havent felt like doing anything.  I slept for an hour but mostly watched re-runs  on tv.  I think today was my downday.  I know I will feel better tomorrow.  I am down 23 lbs and feel great.  I hope I continue to loss weight like this.  I think I am eating too much food but when I look at my journal, everything is 4oz or less and I am eating 3 times a day.  I can believe how suppportive my husband is of this surgery.  He is really helping watch what I eat. And my parents are so awesome in keeping me going.  I guess today is just a slump day.
