I can't believe its been 3 years!
Dec 13, 2009
I've updated my pictures and I am so happy with how I look now and how I feel. I feel HEALTHY and that is what it was all about for me. Don't get me wrong, I love the compliments I get but just knowing how much healthier I am is compliment enough.
OH was such a big part in my decision to have this life changing operation. Well, I should say the people on OH. I was on here for over a year before having the surgery, just looking at the before & after pics was such an inspiration. I hope I can be an inspiration to someone too.
Thank you all for your love & support over the past 3 years~!

ONEDERLAND! Here I am :)
Jul 26, 2007
It has been such a long, crazy journey and all I can say now is that my husband better watch out because I am completely in love with Dr. Read
. He gave me the tool to get my livelyhood back and live a full active life. I've been walking 2 miles every night and am starting to consider making an appointment for a plastic surgery consult. I would like to get the tummy taken care of and get the girls back up where they are supposed to be. But for now, some control top panties and a wonder bra are good enough! TMI for some, but it's all part of this incredible transformation.Eating is still a daily struggle, don't get me wrong, I don't get sick at all. But if I can get in 3-4 oz/3 times a day, I'm doing good. I feel great, have energy and my hair loss seems to be slowing so everything is just as it should be.
I'm just happy to be here (and in ONEDERLAND)!

Isn't it so amazing the little things in life...those little things that are definite WOW moments for people who go through dramatic weight loss, whether it be WLS or another program? Having GB is definitely the best decision I've ever made. I love feeling the way I do, my kids and husband are very supportive and proud and I'm looking forward to living a very long life with them.
I've been a very lucky one, I have only gotten sick once and I have not "dumped" even once. I'm down 105 pounds and am so looking forward to an active summer and shedding more of the excess, I have about 64 more to go to reach my goal, but getting to "onederland" will be so exciting in it's own and I'm getting closer by the day :).
OH has been so important in my journey, the friends I have met here have made the road a little easier with all the great advice and just overall support.
I'll try to post more often, but it probably won't happen with fire season fast approaching, but I will make an effort.
Love you all!
3 1/2 Weeks Out
Jan 07, 2007
I had WLS on Dec. 13th and so far things seem to be going well. I am really struggling with getting my liquids in, but am diligently working on it. I'm never hungry, but do manage to get in 3 meals a day, but no more and an ounce or so. I just can't do it. I also have a permanent "lump" in my throat. It doesn't prevent me from eating or drinking, but it is kind of uncomfortable. I have a Dr. appt next Monday and will ask him about it then. Also, my breath is TERRIBLE! I haven't asked if I can have SF breath mints, but I need them :), believe me!
The surgery itself was not bad at all. My incisions are all healing up well and I have no pain in my belly at all. I went back to work a week ago and also went back to Curves. Last week I did 15 minutes and today I did 20. I'm hoping that by the end of the week I'll be up to the full 30 minute workout :).
So far, I've lost 37 pounds since surgery, but I am down 49 pounds from my highest pre-op weight and I'm very excited about that. I've went down 2 pants sizes too....that is so exciting to me.
Well, I have to go get ready for work now, but I will try to update again after my appointment on Monday.

On the road to approval
Oct 16, 2006
I have one more requirement to meet before my insurance will approve my surgery....the dreaded 5% weightloss! Well, I am almost half way through it now and hoping to reach this goal by the end of October and maybe have a November surgery date!
I've been watching my diet carefully (my PCP put me on the Diabetic Diet) and have been going to Curves 4 days a week. Believe me, I do NOT want to go when my alarm rings at 5:30 a.m. but I keep plugging along as I know that it will benefit my during my recovery and all along my journey.
I am loving OH and can't wait until I start making friends here and being able to talk to others who are going through the same things that I am.
Well, enough for now, hope everyone has a wonderful day!
