I have been overweight all my life. No matter what diet I tried, and trust me, I've tried them all, nothing worked. For two years I fought with my insurance company to get approved for weight loss surgery. My family doctor wrote letter after letter to no avail. I finally decided that it was time I just took things into my own hands. I found Obesity Help. com and researched doctors from the website. I was very impressed with Dr. Jorge Rincon's stats. He is located in San Antonio, Tx. I went to his website and filled out his forms and emailed them. What impressed me was that Dr. Rincon emailed me back personally and called me personally. He has done several patient's from out of state but never one from as far away as Wisconsin. We had several chats on the phone and I did meet the criteria for the Lap Band Surgery and he was willing to perform my surgery. He helped me obtain financing and even gave me the name of a driver that would pick me up at the airport and take me to all my appointments. I made an appointment to see my family doctor, who did all my pre-op exams and sent the information on to Dr. Rincon. In January 2007 my husband and I flew down to San Antonio, Tx. I met with Dr. Rincon, his psychologist and dietician on Monday, Jan. 8th. Dr. Rincon was very clear in his explanation of the surgery and what I should expect. He answered all our questions completely. I walked out of his office that day feeling very confident that I had chosen the right doctor for me! The next morning my surgery was performed. All went well. The pain wasn't too bad and the day after I was out taking small walks. After I got back home, I joined a gym and started working out. In February, I flew back to San Antonio to have Dr. Rincon do my 1st fill. After one month I had dropped about 25 pounds. I follow everything that Dr. Rincon has told me to do and I now work out at the gym 3-4 days a week and I am loving it!!! I am proud to say that I am now 3 months post-op and I have now lost 60 lbs. I will be going back to see Dr. Rincon soon to have another fill done. I am now so excited about the future and so very lucky to have such a wonderful and caring doctor as Dr. Rincon. I could easily have tried to find a doctor around my area to do my fills, but I am so comfortable with Dr. Rincon and he is such a fabulous physician that to me it is well worth the money to fly back to Texas and continue doctoring with him!!
