One year later...

Aug 28, 2008

Well here I am one year and one day later.  I have now lost 130 pounds.  I have about 70-80 more pounds to lose.  I feel so much better than I did one year ago.  It is even hard to explain how much better.  I no longer take high blood pressure medication, so that is a plus.  I am able to keep up with my kids (most of the time, lol).  I go to the gym 3-4 times a week, and I still hate it as much as the first day I walked through the gym's door.  I do like how I feel after working out and it has helped to save my sanity on some days.

I have found that my appetite has increased a bit.  I am able to eat pretty much whatever I want as far as in terms of making me sick.  I try to limit the bad things of course.  I have not had one negative experience from having the surgery.  I have not gotten sick like some of the people do.  There are two types of food I crave...I crave crab and I crave italian food.  I also crave salads now, which I never used to crave lol.  That amazes me.

If any of you out there are scared to death to have the surgery like I was, it helped save my life.  I do not know where I would be today if I had not had the surgery.  I might not even be here today.  I did feel like I was dying with the weight I was carrying around.  I have lost a whole person so far.  It is a pretty amazing journey that I am and I am loving it!
