Albert Gilman

"My former surgeon was Rhonda Wachsmuth in Charlotte, NC. She decided that since I was over 400 lbs. it was too risky to do a surgery on me. She decided to tell me this after she had already consulted me in March and after I had a surgery date scheduled July 26, 2001. I had been on a liquid diet per her request for 5 days when her assistant called to ask me how much I weighed. Like I had lost 100 pounds in 4 months. If I could lose weight this quickly, I wouldnt need the surgery to start with, right? Needless to say this was very disappointing. I am still hurt as my old surgery date approaches. Dr. W is a nice woman, but if you weigh over 400 lbs. she will not operate on you.rnrnI found Dr. Gonzales on this website and have a consultation with him on August, 1. I will update after that.rnrn08/02/01 Dr. Gonzales was very straight to the point about what needed to be done. He answered all my questions and talked to my husband and me about our concerns with the DS surgery. His office staff also answered all our questions about what we needed to do to get started. He is very aggressive about aftercare expecting you to come see him often in the first six month and yearly after that or at least a phone call. He was also very serious about the risks of surgery and also about my personal risks if i choose not to have the surgery. I think he will be a great doctor to do my surgery and would recommend him to anyone considering weightloss surgery.rnrn05/23/01 I have found Dr. Gilman through a friend from this website. He is very matter of fact and to the point. His office staff is super! He has no aftercare plan. I personally think he only cares about the money. "
