Sharp Memorial Hospital

"So the first question is How Well were they equipped for overweight patients. I have to say that many are more overweight than I. It was ok for me, but may be a little harder for others. But the new building, which I understand will have a Bariatric section, will be much better outfitted for overweight patients, set to open in 2007. The rooms were large enough for two patients/beds, but bariatric patients always get the room to themselves."

George Mueller

"Well Im a little biased since my personal physician is a personal friend of mine and our kids go to high school together. And her husband is a plastic surgeon in the same office as my Gastric Bypass surgeon. So, since I have met him socially a few times I already knew that he is a great guy, highly intelegent and a great surgeon. Even so, I still attended the information session, learned what it was all about, and then met him on my first office visit. He explained everything, and his office staff, and counselors filled in all the blanks around the surgery having to do with nutrition, attending groups, what it will be like and do I have what it takes to go through all this. The aftercare is the most important. And Dr. Mueller's office has it all mapped out and want to make sure that you take full advantage of everything. If you aren't, then you should think twice about the surgery. So far, since I am pre-op until tomorrow, I would rate him and his staff a 10! I doubt the rating will change much after the surgery other than to go up above a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10!rn----rnSo now post surgical: What can I say but WOW!. I had surgery Monday morning, 10/23 and everything went great. I even got to go home a day early, on Turesay 10/24. Im sure thats not for everyone but he and the surgical team did a great job. Thanks George.. Ill add more after my post op visits."

ON-Q Pain Buster

"Well I just wanted to post this about this great tool that my surgeon used for post operative pain release. Its a little ball filled with a "Novacaine" (local asnestectic) type drug that has two very small catheters the will dispense internally along the area where the surgery was done. You have it until you leave the hospital. I have to tell you, I had almost no pain the entire time because of this. My brother had the surgery about a year ago and didnt have this and was amazed at how I was doing a few hours after surgery.. So good, that I was allowed to go home the day after surgery. So if you are going to have the surgery, ask you Dr if he uses this or can look into it for you. It was great!"
