im 40 yrs old about 340lbs pre-op have high blood pressure. sleep apnea, fatty liver and depression..I have always been a bigger guy, but i stayed active and worked out a lot, but i still would be about 240-250 lbs. I got married in 1999 to a very good woman and a good homemaker. a girl who believes in dinner and deserts. Along with my wife came her daughter, who i consider my daughter, Alisha was 5 then and born with cp, she is 100% dependent. but healthy, and i work in a sometimes stressful job 60 hrs a week, 2yrs ago my wife and I had a baby boy that takes even more time away. So between my wife who likes to celebrate, mourn, heal with food, working a bunch of hours, the stress of the job, and two kids that are 100% dependent i have lost time to take care of me. I have (like most) tried and succeeding in losing the weight over the last few years, but can never keep it off. I started talking WLS with my wife Deb in 2007 and she was very hesitant at first . This year i really have been pushing and started looking into my insurance and found out they dont cover me at all. I finally got my wife and family on board and have a consultation on sept 30th 2009 with Dr Michael Wood in Madison Hts, MI. and i will keep everyone posted. from there.
So update....I switched from Dr Wood, to Dr Mark Pleatman.....works out of Critteonton.....my surgery will be set for the first week of December....
