Have I not commanded you "Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9 BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS Are you weary of the battle, Of life that you must fight? Do you see naught but sorrow, Looming within your sight? Are you really burdened Christian, By all the sin you see displayed? Then stop! Consider your Lord God, And do not be dismayed. Consider this dear Christian, Whatever you walk through... The Lord God will protect you, And He will walk with you. Have courage then dear Christian, Have courage, and be strong. The Lord God will walk with you; He will guide you all day long. Do not be trembling Christian, And do not walk in fear. Just put your faith in Jesus, And trust that He is near. Remember this ~ the promise, Of the Lord God above, That He will walk beside you, And keep you in His love. © Louise Evans (2000) Wishing you peace as you begin your journey to a better life. Rhonda

Good luck to you! Carmel St. Vincents is the best. I was there for my surgery in April 2005 and it was a 100% pleasure. Just WALK WALK WALK. You will feel a million times better when you walk than you do when you sit in that bed watching TV :) (I did that too much the first day). Just keep your mind open, eat and drink what they give you and have as many popsicles as you want :) Enjoy the relaxing time when they take care of you in the hospital. It's really like a vacation :) The nurses are so nice and funny and I love the weekend nurses, too ;) Good luck to you! I know you will do just fine!

Hi Michelle!!~~~~CONGRATS ON YOUR UPCOMING SURGERY!!! I had surgery with Dr Cacucci on 05/10. You said that you are still unsure on what to take to the hospital. I took walking clothes and tennis shoes but did NOT use them. I walked in my gown, as did the other WLS patients. Who really feels like getting dressed and putting on tennis shoes at that point?!?!?! I would suggest wearing something in the day of your surgery that you can wear home. You will have alot of swelling so your clothes will fit. I took a book for reading but slept most of the time. You will do great! If I can do anything for you, please don't hesitate to email. I will keep you in my prayers for a speedy recovery! God Bless You! Rebecca H
