10/23/07....ok I know, it has been a while. I forget to update this thing. I had a full tummy tuck on October 17th. I am doing good and the healing process is going great. I am working on taking it easy so I can heal better. My Plastic Surgeon is Dr. Laura Semba who works out of Naperville and Orland Park, IL. She is amazing!
7/15/07- Haven't updated in a while. I am down 119 lbs, and amnow looking at PS
10/1/2006-Down 80 lbs! YES!
7/17/05- Down 55 lbs. Doing water aerobics and walking.
6/5/06 Down 40 lbs! Those 10 punds were kind of hard. I stalled for a while there.
5/1/06 I am down 30 lbs.
4/7/06 Went to the doctor today. I have lost 18 pounds so far. I have never lost 18 pounds in 16 days before! I am feeling a lot better today. I am still tired, but feeling better.
3/29/06 Went to the grocery store with my mom. I had to get food for my pureed diet. She made me homemade applesauce with protein powder, and mashed potatoes.
3/28/06 Got the drain out, and feel 90% better. I am not feeling 100%, but am feeling good. I get tired easily. I am down 12 pounds, and it is only a week tomorrow! That helps keep me motivated.
3/27/06 Much better today. Called the Dr's office, and they said I can come in tomorrow to get my drain out! I am so happy, because this drain hurts!
3/26/06 Friday, Saturday, and Sunday have been worse than the day of surgery, and the day after?!? I am trying my best to be strong and make it through this.
3/23/06 Surgery went well. I walked a few laps last night, and again this morning. I am glad I brought my laptop to the hospital, so I can ask any questions as needed.
3/21/06 Tomorrow is surgery day! I am excited!
3/15/06 1 Week until surgery! I can't wait to have a fresh start.
3/1/06 I have a date! i am scheduled for March 22nd.
2/22/06 I went to my last 2 appts today. The lung doctor wants me to have a machine at home for 1 night to make sure I am getting enough oxygen at night. If all is good there, he will clear me for surgery.
2/13/06 I am approved! My HR dpt at work finally got involved, and 2 days later they approved me. I guess they were scared of losing our business. I have some more appts to do before surgery can be scheduled, but the worst part so far has been BCBS.
12/7/05 Well...they are denying me on the grounds that I did not actually see my doctor each month. I had a feeling they would want to box it out. I am mad now, and they better be ready to fight!
11/19/05. We now think that I have everything that I need to submit for approval. I have everything they asked for, and more. I sent BCBS 119 pgs today. They only thing that they can really argue is that I did not actually SEE my doctor once a month. I reported to him online.
10/29/05 My surgeon's office thinks that my diet with my doctor for 12 months will not work with BCBS. My HMO at the time was in Wisconsin, and so was the doctor they covered for me to see. My doctor has a website that I had to report to him on weekly, and they think that since BCBS is so strick they will not count it, since I was not ACTUALLY seeing the doctor. I had to report every week for god's sake!
9/23/05 I just competed my consultation with Dr Guske today. He is great. He sat down and spoke to my mom and myself for over an hour. You usually can't find a surgeon that is that friendly.
9/2005-I have been thinking of having WLS for years now. I have always been heavy. I remember going to the "pretty plus" area of Sears when I was little to get clothes. I have never been able to wear regular sizes. My weight has made my health poor. I now have joint problems, swelling in my ankle/foot, back pain, high blood pressure, etc. I am only 21, and can't live like this. I need to do something now, before I waste too much of my life.
