I started this rollercoaster ride about 6 months ago. I was told I needed to go through six months of supervised dietary visits before I could be approved. Well, the Dr.'s Insurance Expert read the information incorrectly. You see While I have been overweight most of my life, I have not been morbidly obese until the past year. After going through the six months of waiting and anticipation I was turned down because I have not been obese for a minimum of 3 years. So there was no way I was getting approved and I had just wasted six months of my time. Determined to have the surgery, I was approved for a loan to cover the cost. I went in for my upper endoscopy and they found polyps all over my stomach. 20 in total. Due to my family history with cancer my doctor decided to due a stomach resection and the ruenn Y. So I guess everything happens for a reason. I got the surgery and it ended up being covered by insurance. And avoided stomach cancer.
