So today I go visit my PCP and talk to him about this WLS. He was very accepting of the idea. Gave me some suggestions to help me lose my 10% that my insurance requires I lose and sent me home with an Rx for my migraines. The visit went very well. Then, as luck would have it, the insurance specialist from my Surgeon's office called just to check in with me to see how things were going in getting my info together to submit to insurance. I have truely been blessed with a fantastic surgeon and his staff! I told her of my goal to actually have my surgery before my kids get out of school for summer. She told me she would be glad to help in any way she could...just to let her know. At this point its really in my hands...
I've got my past 5 yrs medical records of my weight...CHECK
I've got my psych appt planned for next week...CHECK
Now I've just got to lose 25 lbs in 4 weeks...and I'm gonna do it! Protein shakes, salad, water....and of course, the exercise...which I hate but I must do! They cannot submit to insurance until I've lost the 25lbs.
So...I'm in DIET MODE! BIG TIME.... Guess I better get used to it, huh? Luckily, my husband is very supportive and he is dieting with me...just not hardcore the way I am...ha!

I have 2 Dr's appointments coming up...1 with my PCP and my psych evaluation. I'm in the process now of getting my past 5 years medical records. Man, I sure hope this all goes smooth....
Faxed all my paperwork back to the surgeons office today. Their insurance specialist is sooo good...and helpful. They really seem to actually care about what I'm trying to do here!

Well, I went today for my seminar & consultation with Dr. Westmoreland. He and his staff are so very nice. I was surprised to find out that our insurance doesn't require too, too much for me to have this surgery. Before today, I was seriously considering a GBP, but after talking with the Dr., I believe I will go with a lap band. He seems to think I would do considerably well with that since I have no health problems.
There is much work to be done...I really want to get started asap!
