Six Weeks Post-op

Jan 25, 2013

This week marked my 6 weeks. I had my appointment on Weds with my Surgeon, Dr. Richard. I am down 38 pounds total since starting this process. My doctor said I was doing great. I seem to be getting my energy back FINALLY and seem to have gotten past the hurdles- nausea, fatigue and constipation. I have noticed several little things in the last few weeks. I can sit at a booth and not feel like the table is cutting me in half, I can tie my shoes with out being winded, and I can fit into several clothes I have not worn in several years. That is exciting! My doctor said he wants to see me back in June and that he may not even recognize me. I have no idea what to expect looks wise either but I am excited to find out too!!  I have no regrets at having this surgery. I am still please to say everyone around me as been most supportive and encouraging. I am sure I will at some point face some negativity but it will be good. This is one of the most important personal major life decisions I have made and I am thankful for this experience.

One month post op

Jan 12, 2013

Wow! One month down since surgery and it has been an experience. I am down a total of 33lbs since starting my liquid diet on Nov. 30th. The last two weeks have been tough but it too shall pass. Nausea, constipation, dizziness and just exhaustion. No, I do not regret having surgery. I'm just looking for the  light at the end of the tunnels. I keep thinking of all the things I am going to be able to do this year and want to do! What a great way to start the new year. I have been so blessed with a wonderful husband who has been by my side every step of the way. My two girls too! and my family and friends have been so supportive and encouraging during this . major life change! I was nervous as to how some would react but everyone has been great. I hope that one day my journey will be able to help someone else.
