Well, I am down over 50lbs, been at a stall for a couple of weeks, all in all, its been a good journey,  its hard to wrap my mind around that fact that I have lost so much weight, but I am still huge and have so much to go. So for now I am just setting small goals for myself, 10 lbs at a time, that way I do not get overwhelmed by the sheer amount I have left to go.
 

well, I went to the seminar and met Dr Cywes and made an appt.  That was Back in April I think.  Anyhow, my 18 yr old son went with me to see what it was all about, and he loved Dr Cywes and wanted to have the lap band too. he was even more overweight then  I was.
At starting weight at first visit, I was 357 lbs.  Son was 437, YIKES!!
went thru the 3 month insurance requirements, diet, nutrition, phsych evail, etc.  Son has lost almost 70 lbs.  I think I lost 10, lol..
I had my surgery last Thurs AUg 20th.  Son is scheduled Aug 27
I was in a lot of pain the first 3 days, then had horrible nausea and vomiting foamy stuff for next two days, the only things i can keep down are sugar free popsicles and water, its hard to even get the liquid lortab and phenergan down ugh.
I know I am rambling and going every which way in this blog, but it is 5am and I havent slept for more then 3 hrs at a stretch since I got out of surgery, I keep waking up either due to pain or nausea, the Dr did fix a big hernia too and he said that was causing alot of the discomfort and it would last about a week.  Warm tea helps somewhat,

6 years ago,  at age 32, I tried to get the gastric bypass surgery, after several months was denied and told I could try again in 2 years.  Well, I switched jobs, didnt have coverage at all with that.  Then 8 months ago, I started a new job, which does cover lap band and various weight loss surgerys.
 I decided after alot of review and research that the lapband was just as effective and much safer, so I discussed it with my pcp and then made an appt to go to Jacksonville weight loss center seminar.  So , Last night, that is what I did.  It will be interesting to see if this time I have better luck.
