Over the past 30 years I have slowly lost and gained weight, always adding 5-10 lbs here and there until I weighed 268 at my highest weight. I have hovered around 255 the last year. I have never lost over 20lbs at a time,even when I was younger. My body seems to like to hold on to what it has! I am like most of you. I have tried, weight watchers (several times), gyms, doctor approved diet pills, diet counselor and about 1000 different diets. The last year I have tried lap swimming to loose weight …… Firmed up a bit but didn’t loose a pound! I eat healthy but I obviously eat way too much. I like to think I have sluggish metabolism not sure how true that is? I would love to get down to my ideal weight of 125. incomprehensible! The last time I weighted that was when I married my wonderful husband, in 1978. But I’m really not doing this to be 125lbs again,even though it is a great side effect!..LOL.... I just want to feel better, live longer and do all the things I can’t do now because of my health and bulk.
My family doctor has been telling me for a long time, if I could loose the weight I could probably go off all of my medications. I never really considered bariatric surgery because my doctor was always against it. Well, the last time I went for my physical she said a couple of her other patients had talked her into bariatric surgery and they were doing beautifully.
