Thighs are okay now. The scars on upper arms are much better this time. Calves are fair, could be better. Knees are awful. Will discuss with Dr. Ellen at the next appointment.

Lipo on left inner thigh, both calves, both knees and scar revisions on upper arms.

Scar revision didn't work out quite right, actually looks worse now. Will fix in late winter 2007.

6 month post-op appointment with plastic surgeon. Everything's healed well but will have a scar revision to correct a bulge on my inner thigh in late September. Dr. Ellen and her team have been wonderful.

Recovery was amazingly fast. Minimal pain and swelling.
2/03/06 Had plastic surgery done...
1/29/06 Still losing slow... down 133 total. Plastic surgery is scheduled on 2/3/06 - arms, thighs and abdominoplasty with Dr. Ellen Janetzke at Beaumont Hospital in Troy.

Losing slow... down 109 since surgery for a total of 131 pounds!!!

Doing wonderful. Had my 3 month checkup today and everything is good. I'm down a total of 65 since I started this journey, down 45 since surgery.

Tolerating food very well. No nausea or vomiting. Up to pureed foods now, soft foods next week.

Surgery was Tuesday as planned. Turned out to be a long day but well worth it. Surgery was a 4 hours but it was still a lap!!
Dr. Genaw and his team were great! I came home yesterday and haven't taken any pain meds since.
The staff at Henry Ford Hospital was great also.

Surgical reevaluation appointment today!! Received a surgery date, Tuesday, July 20th.

Met with exercise physiologist today. We developed an exercise plan that will hopefully be realistic.

Medical clearance appointment today. No additional tests are required.

The surgical consult with Dr. Genaw went well today. My revisit appointment is 6/25/04. Between now and then I will meet with the medical clearance doctor and exercise physiologist, as well as any tests requested for medical clearance.

We went to the nursing/dietician meeting today. I am scheduled for a surgical consult tomorrow morning.

My pre-surgery weight loss goal is 15 pounds. I'm down 10 since March 23rd using the Atkins diet mostly.

I was able to move my appointment up a bit. I had my psych eval today and all is well. She said she'll get my approval to the insurance company and the surgeon today!
My first appointment with the surgery team is May 18th. This will be the long group meeting with the Nurse & Dietician.

I'm just beginning my WLS journey. I received tentative approval from my insurance company today, tentative until the psych evaluation which is scheduled for April 29th... so far away when you want to get started right away. But I'll be patient and call to check for cancellations. :-)
I am so excited. I've been visiting this website often and the photo gallery and profiles have been very encouraging. I know I can do it too now!!
