5 Years Out!

July 11 was my 5 year anniversary! This past year has been a particular struggle. I am an emotional eater and it was never more evident than this year. Last August 2 my only brother was diagnosed with stomach cancer. One month ago, on June 9, he succumbed to his 10 month battle. On the day of my surgery, I weighed 254. I am proud to say that even with all that we went through this year, I am 180. THE IMPORTANT THING HERE IS...I AM STILL 74 POUNDS LIGHTER!! Another important thing is, I am getting back on the weight loss train! My habits over the past year were not good at all but I realize that I can self-correct. I am going to use this blog to help me stay accountable! Look for posts each week as my weight goes DOWN for sure! My goal is to be 140 which is only 40 pounds to lose!! Nothing close to the battle I faced 5 years ago! Wish me luck!!

It has been one year and one day since my surgery!! I weighed 254 at the way beginning and now weigh 126!! I love to exercise! I love to shop for new clothes! I love that I made this decision and have worked on meeting my goals all year long!Here's to keeping up the battle!!

Three Months Ago Today

Three months ago today, on July 11, I had my RNY. I am now in a size16, albeit a bit snug, for pants, have lost 45 pounds, and work out at 5am three days a week at the local gym!! Although I am still leary of any hidden complications that could crop up, I am confident that I made the right choice in having the RNY.

I had a pretty good surgery but ended up back in RIH with some internal bleeding the following weekend. Not fun! I have not lost what I had hoped I would by now....13 pounds...and am having a hard time getting in my water, food, and protein drinks. Due to diarrhea in the past 24 hours, I am giving up on some of it for today. I had one protein drink and two meals and am just drinking as much as I can. I am also in search of a great mood! I usually get excited easily but can't seem to get the "get up and go" attitude back yet.

Friday, July11th is my surgery date. In 24 hours from now (7-10-08) I will be in my room!! I hope!?!?!?
