Home again, home again
Feb 12, 2014
Surgery went well. I am now home and am so thankful that we made it home before the ice took over. Tried to get pharm at the hosptial to fill scripts, but they didn't have some in stock, (pain meds, really?), my regular Walmart pharm was closed. The little hometown pharm opened their doors just so I could get meds. I will never go anywhere else. Now to sip and walk, repeat....
Hooray!

Surgery is tomorrow! I am so excited. 2 week pre-op was doable. By Monday afternoon it will be done. I hope and pray that in the coming weeks and months, I will remember why I needed this surgery and that no matter how discouraged I get or how short I get on patience with my new sleeve that this frustration (I've read some of the issues new-be's have had) will soon pass. I am so thankful for this gift, Please God, may I remember that this surgery IS a gift and a tool.
New here.

I have been a long time lurker...now coming out of the shadows because I have just been approved for surgery and have a date of Feb 10th!! I am so excited! Dr. Danny Vaughan's office in Macon, GA called me after lunch ( and a lovely lunch it was...I had a last meal at The Ginger Stir-Fry, a Thai noodle restaurant), but will start my pre-surgery diet this evening. I am considered a lightweight. I am 5'2'' or 5'3'', depending on who measured at what time of day, and my starting weight is 208. I also have high blood pressure and low back problems as I carry my weight in the front abdomen area. Diabetes also runs in my family, which I would like to prevent and so, after praying long and hard, I've decided to have a gastric sleeve done. My surgeon is Dr. Danny Vaughn in Macon, GA and I can say he has the best staff ever! I got so discouraged about the whole process, but Alex really lifted my spirits and gave me hope. The only thing I have left to do is get some kind of clearance from my PCP (and I will work tomorrow to see what is needed to be done), do the last pre-visit with DH at the surgeons office, the insurance pre-cert where they will tell me how much co-pay they need up front and pre-cert with the hospital....OH YEAH, and make it through the next 2 weeks pre-op diet. I am looking forward to learning this new way of life.
