Hi my name is Kathy. I am 41 years old soon to be 42. Man that scares me. I have a husband named Chuck. We have been married 21 years and have 2 kids. Mike who is 21 and Marie who is 17. WE raised my nephew and his name is Robbie and is 24. We live in Green Bay WI and are big Packer fans.I was a manger for a bar and and resturant. I loved my job. It was my whole world besides my family. Then I got sick with pancreastitis. They removed my gall bladder and continued to have alot of problems. After 2 years of being so sick and working I just couldn't do it anymore so I had to step down because of my unreliability. I miss my job. After being in the hospital numerous times and having many many procedures done we were financially ruined. About 1 month ago the dr.s said I needed a surgery called the Whipple procedure. That terrified me to no end. I asked for a referal to the Mayo clinic in Minnesota. Unbelieveable place. I wish I went there 4 years ago. So they read all my records and did testing and I was told my pancreas is fine and they can't believe I went through everything I did. The only damage in done, is from the procedures I had back here. They believe I have a severe case of irritable bowel syndrome. All that pain and narcotics. All unnessary. I was speechless. So in order to get my life back in order,the number one thing is I need to lose weight.I have an appointment with my dr. here for IBS. Then I will talk to her about a referal for a dr. for the lap band. It is not that I want to take the easy way out,but I already lost 4 years of my life and depression that I need a big push. I am mentally ready to get on this horse and ride it until the end. I want the next few years to be great for my daughter. I missed alot of moments in her life and I can't do that anymore. She is having a hard time seeing me so sick. All the medication I was on made me sick and tired, I am off the narcotics. Having a few twitches but nothing serious.Any advice would be very helpful to begin my journey. wether it is surgery or just diet ,I really need help. Thank You
