Disappointment

Feb 01, 2011

Well I found out that weight loss surgery is not covered under my plan. Which I find ridiculous because before picking from the three insurances my husband’s job offers we called each one and asked them. We even had the procedure codes for the insurances to run. Two of the three said that it was covered, one a HMO and one a PPO. I did some research and chose the HMO.. Well they are through the same company. Even the surgeon that I had chosen (who just does bariatric surgery ) is a preferred provider. But I was looking over my documents and it had weight loss surgery under exclusions. Anything to do with weight loss is under there. I have decided not to really plan anything until I have my consultation in March  the doc can tell me what’s going on. But it doesn’t look good. So maybe next year during open enrollment I will pick the right one.  Just for now trying to make good choices in foods, I already work out 3-4 times a week for the minimum of 45 mins, whether it is walking or the elliptical. I have hypo thyroid so I am not even sure if my body knows how to lose weight. I am just tired of this.
