Im "SCARE" but I know I need this

Hi and Welcome to my journey! Well first let me introduce myself my name is Lupe. I’m 29 years old, single and currently have no kids. I was born in Monterey Park, Ca. and grew up in Montebello, Ca., I am.now living in La Puente, Ca. I’m an out going person, friendly and shy most of the time…. until I get to know you then WATCH OUT you wont shut me up!!! J/K. I started looking into having this surgery about 1-½ years ago I did my research and decided to do it for my health. I want to live longer and I would like to get married someday and have children. I have 4 beautiful goddaughters that I totally love. Well this is were my journey begins…

7/11/06
Well tomorrow I will finish my options classes in Kaiser, I completed a 24-week (6-month) program. Its been a long journey and also a lot of information to be taken in. its going to be a long time commitment for myself, I want to live longer and also want to feel good about myself and be healthier. I am so proud of myself for not giving up I also had the support of my family and friends which I appreciate, it means a lot to me. Now is just a waiting period. I’m planning on having surgery at Pacific Bariatrics in San Diego.
If everything goes well, I will be in the loser’s bench in no time! “I HOPE”

7/24/06:
I called PB office because I haven’t heard from them and I’m so impatient right now that I want to know if my paperwork is being processed or if it’s on hold or what’s going on.
I’m waiting for an appt. for Pre-Ops.

7/25/06:
PB in San Diego called me to ask what my schedule looked like, when I’m available to go to San Diego and of course I said any time. They told me that they would be calling me with an appt. shortly. So the waiting game begins now.

7/28/06:
PB called me today to give me my Pre-Ops appt, which is August 03, 2006 I’m so excited. So my first appt. is in La Jolla for a Psych Eval. @10:30 a.m. then I need to go to San Diego to meet with the Internist @1:15p.m. Then I’ll meet with Dr. Tanaka @2:15 p.m.

08/03/06:
Well today was my appt. at Pacific Bariatrics in San Diego. I was so happy and also so nervous that I kept running to the restroom all day LOL!!
· Well first I went to La Jolla to meet with the Psych everything went fine she said I passed.
· I met with the Internist and he told me your in good health & good luck with your surgery he also said you passed.
· My next appt. was with Dr. Tanaka I was so NERVOUS going there. He said that I should be hearing from them in 5 to 7 days. I’m approved.

I calmed down when I meet other ladies that were there for Pre-Ops and some were there for check ups (after surgery) I saw this lady that used to go in to our group to make up some classes she had missed, she had her surgery a week ago and boy did she look good! She was letting us know about her experience and how long it took for her to get her surgery date, and that she had lost 20 lbs in one week after surgery! Everyone was like WOW that’s good. So just talking to everyone around me was so exciting and also relaxing. My parents went with me they are my big support, I love them so much OMG! I'm starting to cry just typing this. Ok lets see what else can I add, Oh about Dr. Tanaka he was great answering some of my questions because the other questions that I had well he answered them when he was talking to me. He just told me to start my B12 and Vitamin C and that’s all. I thought he would tell me to lose some more weight but he didn’t so I was happy. (Everything went fine) So now the waiting game begins again.

08/04/06:
Well today is Friday and every 1ST and 2nd Friday of the month, there is a support group at Kaiser (where we had our Option Classes) so I went to it today. I knew some of the ladies were going to go so I decided to go and it was fun. We spoke to the ladies and guys that had the surgery about 3 months ago and they all looked great! It was a good thing we went. Only 5 of us went that finished Options and 4 of us are waiting for surgery (Pre-Ops) it was really nice to see them. We took pictures (of course the cheese ball that I am, I’m always carrying a camera with me) so it was my idea to take pictures. I’ll post them later on.



08/07/06:
So today I got an email from Melody M, she belongs to the OH Forum. She was letting me know that she has a date of August 25, 2006. I’m so happy for her. I’ll be praying for her. I’m hoping I could go and visit her after surgery on the weekend.


08/11/06:
I got a call today @ 3:19p.m. Asking if I needed more time or if they could go ahead and schedule my surgery date and I said NO I don’t need and more time go ahead and schedule the next available date, that's good for me. PB told me that I was looking into having surgery @ the end of the month OMG I'm so excited right now I cant wait until Monday when They call me back with surgery date.

08/14/06:
Hi everyone just rec'd a call today @ 10:27 a.m. from Pacific Bariatric to let me know that my surgery is schedule for Tuesday, September 05, 2006 in San Diego with Dr. Tanaka. I’m so excited and scare at the same time OMG!! The day is almost here!!! In 3 weeks I’ll be a loser, but who’s counting LOL I was reading someone post about when they got the date for surgery, that their reaction wasn’t what they were expecting it to be, Well that’s the same reaction I got I thought I would be crying, screaming or jumping up and down but “No” I think it was more of a shocker then anything yeah I know IM SCARE but I hope everythign will go well.

08/17/06:
I had lunch with some good friends I meet @ Option. We went to Mimi's Cafe we all had a salads Elsa, Melody and I expect for one lady her name is Yolanda she had a sandwich. We had a good time just hanging out together. Melody will be having her surgery soon Im so excited for her. I become really close to some of the ladies Elsa, Melody and Carmen and cant forget Sarainne she always had me cracking up she was always getting in trouble for talking anyways thats all for now.

08/18/06:
OMG I went to Kevin A's Last supper and I had a blast this is something I wouldn't have done on my own but I did. I had so much fun meeting new people, We had dinner first and everyone was so welcoming that right there and then I knew that I had made the right choice of going. I wasn't planning on going to the hop afterwards but I did and that's were all the fun begin. so now people know me and I know them. Im so glad I went.

~~I got an Angel her name is Dana she was so cool and thin I couldnt believe she had surgery. I need to post some pictures but havent figure it out yet anyways I'll keep you posted.
I also want to post of Helen Crazy Chica those two together OMG!!
