My Story.... Well let's see.  I'm 35 yrs. young. I was born and raised in South Carolina. I moved to North Carolina in 1996. I'm married with one son and two Golden Retreivers. My husband has been very supportive in my decision to have the RNY surgery.  He is actually the one that encouraged me to make the call.

My last memory of being skinny was when I was in early grade school.  By middle school I had gained a lot of weight and was probably the biggest girl in school.  You all know how hard it is to grow up being fat.  You try to smile and act like it doen't bother you.  During high school, I had maybe 2 boyfriends and they were big as well.  I've tried every diet on the face of the earth.  I would have some success, only to gain it all back and then some.  My last big weight loss was 3 yrs. ago when I lost about 55 lbs. and got married.  I still wasn't the size I wanted to be when the actual date got here.  After the wedding, I gained all the weight back plus about 30 lbs. more.  My son is  8 yrs. old and very active.  I look forward to being able to get out and play with him.

I've been approved by my insurance company.  I had originally scheduled my surgery for March 20th.  But, my employer said NO to me taking a leave at this time.  See it's our year end and very very busy.  Not to mention that my co-worker is out right now on medical leave.  She had back surgery in January.  She was originally only to be out 6-8 wks.  Which would have worked out.  But, her Dr. has released her as of April 2nd. Therefore, since I am helping covering part of her job.... they won't let me go.  My boss is supportive of my surgery - however, I did not like it when she said NO.  I have been with the company for 7yrs. and do everything for anyone.  It just really hurts to know that they would not would not try anything in their power to help me out.

Well enough about it.  I've rescheduled my surgery for April 16th. First one for the day.  7:15am.... I've got to be at the hospital at 5am.  Whew! that will be an early morning.  But, it's worth it.

Can't wait to start my new life.
