My first Dumping! UUUggghh!
Jun 10, 2011
OMG!!! I must say I have just had my first battle with dumping syndrome!
I really did think I was hungry so I went and warmed up about 2tblsp of a baked potato. As soon as I was done I felt this intense pain in my chest and I felt real nauseated. Forgive me for being graphic...but I tried for like 10mins to throw up and nothing happened. Then finally someting came up, a white foam. I guess they call it "froathing". I came back downstairs thinking that i was done...nope nope. Back upstairs I went more white foam and added some weird mucus to it this time...horrible! Gotta remember to eat slower and/or chew more.

9 Days out

To say the least I am so excited to get this drain out tomorrow. I hope no one else has to keep theirs in this long
. Funny thing is I never leaked into this lil grenade...always when I'm laying down and around it, lol! I've learned to sleep on towels or put a handtowel over the bandages. As far as I'm feeling...it changes daily. I can care less to see Jello ever again
. I cannot wait until I can start adding more things to my diet just for more creativity.

So far I am extremely happy with my decision. I had very little pain...well I do have a high pain tolerance. It's more of discomfort. I guess I kind of built myself up that I was gonna be in extreme pain so it wasnt so bad. So far the most pain I'm dealing with is this drain.
Bad things- waking up wit catheter in and having to walk the floor with it still in. Kind of felt like a tampon in wrong and having to pee, lol! Extreme dry mouth-Since you cant drink until you get an upper gi done my lips were horrible. Crozer was nice enough to provide these mint flavored sponges which helped a bunch, along with helping you freshen your breath. and loud roommates- it's funny because all you want to do is sleep...but you have nurses coming in to wake you up every couple hours the last thing you wanna hear is the loud person in the bed next to you
