My struggle with obesity began after the birth of my first child at the age of 25. I had lived in California all of my life until 2005 when we decided to find a new life in Texas. My life in CA was quite hectic with a daily 42 mile commute to work in traffic and a 9 hour work day. Junk food and restaraunts became my friends when I as too tired to cook. Food became my comfort when I was tired, stressed and depressed. In 2009, I finally woke up and realized that I had spent 19 years being fat, making excuses and missing out on happiness. Recently, my 19 year old daughter saw my 120 lb. skinny picture that is saved in my photos. She told me that she cried when she saw that photo because she has never seen me that thin and so happy. My family is excited for me, especially my husband because he feels that he will have a new woman. MY JOURNEY BEGINS 2/16/10.
