I have been overweight my entire life. I went on my first formal diet in High School thru a program sponsored by General Mills. Since then it has been fade diets, weight watchers, slim fast, diet pills and anything else you can think of. I would lose weight but eventually put it and more back on. I am the consumate yo-yo dieter.

Presently I have a BMI of 35 but many severe health problems. The last straw for me was when I had to be put on insulin for diabetes. I take several high blood pressure medications and have high colosterol. I am sick and tired of being sick and tired!

My husband had RNY surgery 3 years ago and has lost about 125lbs. So when I seriously decided I wanted surgery I went back to where he start...Emory Bariatrics. After attending their free seminar in November, I made an appointment to see Dr. Ed Lin, the surgeon who did my husband's surgery. He was wonderful. He said I am a perfect canidate for lapband. So I moved ahead and started the process toward surgery.

Emory was great and guided me thru the process painlessly. It took awhile to get the paperwork in order, especially in the middle of the holidays. But when it was all finally submitted to my insurance company, I was approved in 3 days!

I am now scheduled for surgery March 4th, 2008. I am so excited! I can't wait to lose weight and feel healthy.
