Hello everyone, My name is Lori, I'm 40 years old and live in a small suburb north of Toronto.  I have been obese all my life. Every picture I have from the time I was about 3 years old, show that I was always the "chubby" kid.  I have been dieting since I was about 12 and have tried it all....weight watchers, jenny craig, nurti system, personal trainer, the banana diet, south beach diet, vegetable soup/miami diet, and the list goes on....

I have a wonderful supportive husband of 17 years and with a little help from a fertility specialist, we were blessed with Thomas and Selena who just turned 8.  I have a huge opinionated family and have only told my husband and mom about the surgery.  At every family gathering, the same conversation happens about weight loss, "go on a diet, exercise, blah, blah, blah". Those who have never walked in our shoes, have no clue to the struggles we have every day.....

I am so excited to be starting my jouney of WLS!   I have been a patient of Dr. Lance Levy, who has been an absolute Godsend!  He discovered my other co-morbidities when my GP overlooked them.  I walked into Dr. Levy's office 3 years ago and asked if I could have a referral for WLS, his response was, "well, let's look at why you are overweight first" and we went from there.  After extensive testing and the discoveries of the co-morbidities, I have finally reached a point where I can do the WLS.  I'm scared, excited and know that things will be so much easier afterwards.

I wish all of you a safe journey through your WLS and remember, you are not alone....
