one week postop
Apr 18, 2012
So I am one week postop now and can actually say that today (for the first time), I don't even feel like I had the surgery. My incisions have almost completely healed, just a few small scabs left. I don't feel gassy anymore, but I had shoulder pain last night, so I have to wonder if that was the gas working itself out of me. (Or the gas is trapped in my brain now, ha, ha.)I have already licked Doritos (yum), but did not eat the actual chip, and I took 2 spoonfuls of loaded mashed potatoes and gravy and mixed in one bite of meatloaf, but chopped into bits so the whole concoction was actually like pudding consistency, and I did fine with that. today, I had the awful craving for a cheesburger, so I went to A&W with intention of getting one to chew and spit out, but I left and did not order anything. I have to learn to curb these cravings and the longer I give in to them, the longer it is going to take to change the lifestyle that got me obese in the first place.
I have been making dinner for my family all week and it has been hard, licking off spoons, etc, but never actually eating anything, so I at least give myself partial credit for that.
I am getting tired of not eating real food, and I cannot be off liquids until May 5th according to my doctors guidelines. I think I may go insane by May 5th!! I just keep telling myself, keep it up, I will be so happy in a few months that I did not deviate and actually got through the tough time.
Well, thanks to everyone who is reading my blog and encouraging me. You guys are all awesome!!
