Congratulations on your surgery date! IT'S JUST FOURTEEN SHORT DAYS AWAY!!! YIPPIE AND YAHOO!!! I have some Zen Wisdom for you - Nothing exists but momentarily...One thing flows into another...observe things as they are, let everything go as it goes. This is to put everything under control in its widest sense. --- May God keep you close to his side as you travel your new journey. You will have ups and downs. You can always turn to us, your AMOS family, we will give support, comfort and encouragement. You will find this will be the best thing you could ever have done for yourself as well as your family. I know that was true for me. Keep us posted when you reach the "other" side. I pray for a speedy and easy recovery for you. Don’t forget to update your profile at least monthly. We all like to see how we are doing!!! Make sure you take pictures. It’s great to see the new you emerge!!! Not to mention the look on YOUR face when you look at those pictures and compare them in a few months! It’ll be a BIG WOW!!! Please remember too, that this is a *tool* to use. Make sure you use it wisely. The first year it’s pretty easy, after that I’ve been hearing that it gets increasingly difficult. Choose the right foods and measurements wisely! Good luck and God Bless!!! RNY 10/31/03 257/133 I’M AT GOAL!!! Hey, I'm from the Ms.State Message Board. Im still pre-op testing, but I wanted to stop by and let you know that I am so happy for you getting your surgery date. Remember that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you have a "Very Blessed" surgery.

I have verified with Charlene at my insurance company that my surgery has been approved. Due to my mom's illness I have postponed my surgery since I need to be as strong as possible for her as my doctors have warned me that having fibro is going to make the post-op rather difficult due to my pre-existing pain and fatigue. Thanks again for all of your support!

Thanks everyone! I hope it goes smoothly. I'm a bit concerned because of my insurance co. When I called my ins. co. they said once the procedure has been submitted is when they determine if it was 'medically neccessary' and that they have only approved the hospital stay. When I contacted my surgeon's office, their secretary verified again with my ins. co contact person (Charlene) and did say that both the surgery and hospital stay were approved, yet the letter I received from my ins. co. only mentioned the hospital stay being approved and that it is not a guarantee of payment as it is based off of medical neccessity. So should I believe my doctors office or ins. co?? Should I go and get all of the tests done (that I didn't need to do) before the surgery? I'm at a loss.
