almost 11 years post op!
Aug 24, 2011
Well, as hard as it is to believe, here I sit, almost 11 years post op. I'm proud of the last 11 years of my life and still feel that having the surgery was the best decision I've ever made!
I'm divorced now, but it was for the best. My weight is not where I'd like it to be, I weigh 172 and wear size 8's, but have made up my mind to refocus to get back to where I want to be! Starting today, I've given myself 114 days (exact # of days until my 40th bd!) to get back to my size 2/4's! That means I need to lose approximately 30lbs! I admit, staying where I am takes absolutely 0 effort and I can drink and eat as much as I want and have mastered the couch potato routine, but I am not happy with my body at this weight. I want to be thin again! I've posted pics of me at my lowest weight around my cube and house, i've made a pact with two coworkers, i've restarted my fitday.com stuff and have committed myself to getting back to my body for life recipies! I can and will do this! I will not stumble into my 40's ashamed that I've "let myself go". I will strut into my 40's knowing I look better than I ever have in my life! :)
Best of luck to everyone on your journey. Trust me, it's worth it!

Life is good
Nov 03, 2006
So here I sit, almost 6 years post op and I can honestly say life is good.
While I am not at my lightest weight, I am still at a healthy weight and am pleased with my appearance & health.
I am a FT student, I still work FT for the same company I've been with for over 6 years, my son is almost 17 and is healthy and happy, my marraige is thriving .... all is well.
I recently (7 days ago!) gave up all artificial sweeteners and diet sodas. (I don't drink regular sodas so that isn't an issue) It had really gotten out of hand. I was drinking 2-4 liters of diet coke a day, everyday! That doesn't even count all of the equal in my coffee, splenda in my food, etc. I researched all of the side effects and health complications the artificial sweeteners have been proven to cause and decided I had to come off of all of it. I have, and I'm beginning to feel a difference. Do the research, you'll be amazed at what you read!!
