18 Days Post-op

Had a great week since last checked in, each day I had 1/3 cup oatmeal made with 2/3 cup soymilk with 2 scoops of protein powder with 18 gms of protein per scoop, also added 600 mg calcium citrate. this with 4 ozs protein shake. the meal in it self I know is a great bariatric breakfast but my wife and sister-in-law kept telling me I was eating to much and because I like breakfast at 5 AM I am doing it wrong. but my body was telling me that I am right on track. for lunch it varied from 1/4 cup cottage cheese with 4 oz yogurt with 1 scoop of protein powder or 6 oz of pureed fruit in natural juice and 1 day I had 2 won-tons with 4 oz of egg drop soup put through the blender which was really filling so filling that I put 4 oz of shake back until dinner I was nice and full.
Dinner varied from cottage cheese 1/4 cup with yogurt with protein powder, next day I had 1/2 of a egg foo young with 1/4 cup of brown gravy pureed with 4 oz of protein shake and 6 oz of pears, and yesterday I had chicken and rice soup and a protein shake I made with 4 oz of soy milk and 2 scoops of protein powder with 600 mg of calcium citrate.
Each day I had my multi and 2 doses of c spaced apart and B 12 1000 units.
Each day I did about 1/2 hr exercise from walking to shoveling, today I was able to increase my walking distance by 4 blocks.
I have to admit this is happening smoothly and I am satified with the three meals with once in a while a small jello so I was a little scared to get on the scale but when I got on I lost another 9 lbs since last weigh in, I was overjoyed and happy to tell my wife so as to ease her mind and now I hope she easies off telling me what I am doing right and wrong as far as this journey is concerned, although because I was so satisified I wondered myself.
she goes in for a sleeve on the 14th of Feb. I sure hope she has as easy and sucessful time as I have been having since the post op swelling went down in my stomach and at the connections to my small intestines.

Decided to keep a small diary of my journey.
Today is the first day I and officially suppose to start on what my wife calls " Mushies" which in medical terms is purees. I must confess that after a week on "full liquids"at the end of the week the liquids were running through my little stomach and 5 mins after I had a shake or yogurt with protein powder I was hungry again. My body was telling me it wanted something a little more substancial. So last night my wife, who starts her pre-op liquid diet for her gastric sleeve op on Feb 14, made saugage and pepers for meals to freeze for my father-in-law who is staying with us. When I got up from my nap it smelled so good and as it was so close to today I covinced her to puree a 1/2 a cup and after my sister-in-law who is 3 yrs post Roux-N-Y made sure it was blended untill almost liquid : ) my stomach got it first taste of meat since a month ago when I started my two week liquid the one week clears post-op then 1 week protein shakes etc. and it went down great, I had the feeling of fullness longer and still had room for a small sugar free pudding about 1/2hr later, which lasted till breakfast.
For breakfast today I had oatmeal with protien powder and 4oz. of protein shake, 4oz protein shake with 1/4 of a bannana for lunch then a walk around the block with an extra block but I felt to cold in my lungs so after a 1/2 block I turned back. Cottage cheese 1/4 cup with a small yougart with Protein powder and 5 oz of protein shake amd a small vanilla pudding. Feeling satisfied and writing it out don't feel like I ate to much, although feeling this satified usually I usually had to eat much more and I either felt I needed a snack before bed or I was so full I was unconfortable. I would grade today a 90% because I took a 3 hr nap/lay in bed which I need to get down to 1-1 1/2 hr at the most.
