Yes, my current weight is such that most folks are when they undergo their bypass surgery, however, in July of 2000, I was almost 400 pounds, so the fact that I'm no longer in danger of losing my life is definitely a plus. I'm also no longer in danger of losing my legs, which at that time had lots of nasty looking purple alligator skin "stasis dermatitis" that was threatening to meet around back at which time, a vascular specialist assured me, I would have to have them AMPUTATED.
Now, with the exception of some light freckling, I have NO indications of ever having had the purple alligator skin and I get to keep my legs.
So for those of us who are post-op and are not yet the thin objects of our most secret fantasies, congratulate yourselves anyway. YOU'RE GOING TO LIVE!!! Something most of us had long odds on prior to our surgeries. And, I'm willing to be, you are still FAR healthier than you were pre-op. Give yourselves a hand!!!
