Dec 03, 2007
lol). Unfortunatly, most of the pain I have is from my lower abdominal where the repair was done. But, I am home and recovering and looking foward to my next check-up! I can't wait to see more on my plate than sf jello or a sf popsicle! Any tips to get through the liquid diet will not be turned awayAPPROVED AT LAST!!!

YEAH!!!!!! I have finally been approved by my insurance
!!!! They needed me to complete a 3 month weight loss course with my primary care physician, even though I have been treated by several weight loss doctors. I finished the 3 months and resubmitted my info and was approved a week later. I am now scheduled for surgery November 29th. I am very excited, yet at the same time a little scared
. I have two small children and am terrified that if for some obscure reason I have complications that lead to the big "D" word that they will be left without a mom. I know that I will be healthier and happier once I have the surgery, which will make me even a better mom to them. So for now I am trying to focus on the positive and leave the nerves behind. Any words of encouragement would be wonderful! My pre-op is November 27th, which is when I am suppose to start the liquid diet (any suggestions?). I will post another update soon.

My Journey Begins
Feb 19, 2007
Hello to those visiting my blog! I am 36 years old and have been happily married to my husband for 10 years. We have two beautiful children, a 6 year old daughter and a 3 year old son. They have been the light in my life and the ones who keep me from hiding in my house. I have been fighting my weight battle for most of my life and finally see a light and the end of this long dark tunnel. Dr. Edward Felix is my doctor and he and his staff are awesome. They have taught me so much during their seminars and office visits. The closer I get to having the surgery the more excited I get at the thought of finally closing in on this journey to being healthy and happy. I am both excited and terrified of getting the call from my doctor on wether or not my insurance approved my surgery. My doctor says I meet all the qualifications that the insurance requires, yet I am afraid of being rejected for some obscure reason. As of now, I have borderline hypertension, boderline diabetes, high cholesterol, asthma with shortness of breath, thyroid disease, and am currently being treated for back pain at a neck and spine clinic. I have seen the problems associated with both HTN and diabetes in my own family and am terrified of being fully diagnosed with either of them. There is so much I would love to do in my life and I feel like I can accomplish those things after talking with Dr. Felix and his staff. But for now, I wait on pins and needles.
