Hello!! My name is Little A, I prefer to be anonymous if that is alright. I have been overweight my whole life. My mother has the Lap Band and my aunt has had RNY. One day while complaining about my weight, I joked to my mother that I will, "just get that sleeve thing". She asked if I was serious, and after thinking about it, I decided that I was. That was in January. On January 31st, I had my first appointment at Surgical Assocaites in Grinnell, Iowa. My highest weight that I remember seeing on the scale was 287 and when I went into my initial appointment, I was around 282. Since then, I have dropped almost 30 pounds just from diet. And recently started working out and strength training. My surgery date is 6/13/17. I am a college student and about to turn 23 years old. I hope this community can be a supportive and educational place for me. Thanks!!
