I did it!!!  I thought I had gained some weight back and was frustrated!!!   Turns out I was reading the scale wrong.  I was at 95 pounds lost and was getting excited for 100 pounds and I zoomed right past 100 to 106!!!  I know I still have a long way to go, but I am so much closer!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :)  YAY!!!!

My next big goal is to lose 71 more pounds.  I'm hoping to lose at least 30 of that this summer.  We have season passes to six flags and hawaiian falls.  I'm either going to walk it off or swim it off!!!  I feel so much better!!  I am so much more social now.  I am losing my negative self image.  Which it really bothers me that I had to lose weight to lose it.  :(  It is hard to explain why I feel worthy of attention now and before I did not.  Somehow this self confidence has given me a lot more courage to do things I would not have done before.

I thank God every day for this tool!  THANK YOU GOD!!! :)

I am feeling so good!  I just can't imagine how good I'm going to feel when I get the rest of this off!  I'm so thankful for this tool! :)

P.S.  Being married and losing this weight is a bonus!  It is like having a new toy! lol

This lapband thing was a lot different than I expected!  I read a lot about it and read other peoples experiences.  I talked to several friends that have had it and watched them go through their weight loss journey.  Even then I still had no idea what it was going to be like!

I had great restriction at first and then it got to where I felt like I could eat just like before.  I got scared!  I was mad at myself!  I was thinking why in the world did I have this surgery if I'm just going to keep doing what I was doing.  Well, I kept going every month to get a fill and the last 2 fills have REALLY restricted me!  70 pounds in 6 months!!!  I've gone from a size 32 to a 24!  Not too shabby! :)  I still have about 80 - 100 more pounds to go!  That all depends on how much skin poundage I'll have left.  I will be happy at a size 12.  I have to remind myself that the Dr. said I have about 160 lbs lean mass and if I add 20% body fat to that.  I can't get down much further.

I got my rollerblades out of the closet and in my car.  I've got about a month until spring break!  So, hopefully I will be right on track with my goal!  So, it is time to set a new goal.  Hmmmm.  I will have to think on this for awhile.  I think I will browse through other peoples goals and see if I can find one that fits me. :)

Anyway........ I just thought I would update this since it had been awhile.  I think I'll update my picture too.

It's been a long time coming.  I've been doing all the insurane requirements even longer than I had to.  I started going to Southwest Medical Center.  I really liked all the people there.  Then the surgeon I was supposed to have left that office and moved to Denton.  I met my new surgeon and he was extremely rude and I felt completely uncomfortable with the idea of having him do my surgery.  So, I left there.  A friend of mine from Church suggested Fort Worth Lap Band.  So I've been going there since the end of 2008.  It took forever to get SWMC to transfer all of my medical records.  So, I have been getting together all these old medical records from random Dr. offices to prove that I have been obese for at least 5 years.  I call Ft Worth Lap Band numerous times to see what exactly I need.  Previously they said I could probably use pictures or driver's license ID, etc. to give the 5 year history.  Then I call back and I get different answers.  So meanwhile I'm digging and digging for records.  Calling and asking them to fax.  So finally I think I have it all done and I call Ft Worth Lap Band and they say they didn't get all the faxes.  So I call to have them faxed again from the other dr. offices.  I call back to Ft worth LB and I get transferred a few times and one of the nurses is looking through my file and says........ well I show you been approved since May 1st.  WHY DID SOMEONE NOT TELL ME????????  I could not believe it!  I'm a teacher.  I wanted to get this done early in the summer and get adjusted before school starts.  I didn't want to take any time off.  I could not believe it.  I was approved before school was even out and I've been spending so much time trying to get all this together.  UGH!  Anyway........  so here I am!

They hurried and scheduled me in.  I found out Wednesday 7.29.09 that I will have surgery on 8.4.09. :)  I'm excited and nervous all at the same time!  I've really been trying to stick to this liquid diet so that my liver will shrink and they can do the 1 incision surgery!  I hope so!  That would be awesome!

I'm so ready to lose weight and get off of my medications!  Diabetes and HBP...... I know it will kill you.  I watched my Dad die.  I want to be around a lot longer for my daughter.  I'm ready to feel better and go rollerblading!! :) 

Goals!
1.  100 lbs by christmas!
2.  Rollerblading by spring break!
3.  Six Flags and Hawaiian Falls season passes!
4.  Walking/Running with the church group in "Fun Run's" by next summer.
