I am now down 121 lbs. I could have been farther but I decided to relax a bit over the holidays and maintained at a loss of 101 lbs for about 2-3 months. I really enjoyed myself and then on my birthday in Jnauary I decided to hit hard again and have lost 20 lbs and a couple of sizes. I am so excited as I am now in an 8/10 clothes. It has been feeling really good to go into any store and find something nice to wear. I have never felt better and really enjoyed being able to have some very tasteful boudiou photos taken for my hubby's 40th birthday. When I saw them I could not believe it was me. I must give all Glory to God becuae I know I could not have traveled this journey alone and without His help.

Weight loss seems to be slowing down.
Mar 17, 2010
Last Wednesday I weighed in at 252 and I have only lost 4 lbs since then. I weighed in today at 248. I am a little discouraged especially since I have been losing round 7-8 lbs a week. I hope this is normal. I didn't have a bowel movement for over a week, maybe this is why I didn't lose as much weight as I had in the previous weeks.

I had to start a high protein diet 2 weeks prior to my surgery (RNY) I lost 17 lbs. It has now been 2 weeks and 2. days sonce my surgery and I have lost 34 lbs total. I feel great and started taking my vitamins today. My new goal now is to lose 40 ibs over the next 6 weeks for my college graduation ceremony. This will put me at 212 lbs and approximately a size 16. I am currently 252 and a size 20.

Just getting home
Feb 25, 2010
Today, I returned home from the hospital from having my surgery (RNY). Wow, what an ordeal it was. I list 18 pounds just during the two weeks prior to sugery. My surgeon put me on a high protein diet, no breads, pastas, fried foods, sugar or basically no carbs, then two days prior to surgery all clear liquids. I got to the hospital on Friday teh 19th for surgery only to get turned away because someonse had an emegency during their surgery. Off I went hoem for two more days of clear liquids. My surgery was reschduled for Monday morning at 5:30 AM. I came home today, Thursday the 25 th.

Today is just the beginning
Dec 28, 2009
I am so excited. Today my insurance company told me I had been approved for my surgery (RNY). So many things are going through my mind. I was approved becasue of some health related issues, I had thyroid cancer almost six years ago and had to have a complete thyroidectomy. Since I do not have a thyroid I am unable to lose weight like normal and gain weight pretty easily. I am also at a very high risk of developing diabetes.
I am ready to lose this weight and be able to do more activities with my kids and hubby.
I weigh around 280 lbs, my ideal weight is around 160, I think. I weighed 170 before my thyroid disease became worse, I was a size 10/12. That was in 2002.
