4 weeks post-op

Feb 05, 2011

I have been doing really good, I have lost 20lbs already. I have wondered off track a little and ate a few no, no's since surgery. no stomache pain or intolerances so far. I feel guilty when I eat foods with fat in them even though I know I am eating 1/2 a serving or less. I am working on head hunger and finding my sore spots of the day which is around 3:30 snack time at work. I set out snacks for afterschool care for about 60 kids. seeing 60 cookies/chips makes me really want one, and yes I have ocasionally given in. To early for those sweet/carbs I know. I even ate popcorn at 3 weeks out, shrimp at 2 weeks out, but it was tolerated well. i do get scared I will stretch my pouch or cause leakage so the last week I have been very good. The first 3 weeks very very stressful and unsupportive due to family interferences.. but all that is done and gone and I am back to working on me.

2 days until the big day

Jan 06, 2011

I have only two full days left, everything that I was worried has cleared itself up. No medical problems left to worry about. I am concerned about the upcomming weather that is expected. I have to drive an hour over the moutains to get to the doctors, and hosp. We plan on staying in a hotel on Sunday night so Monday morning we could walk if needed.
It is crazy that I am more worried that surgery will be canceled more than I am worried what could happen during surgery. My insurance has only approved the surgery for one day and that's it, my final shot at this. I doubt that my surgeon would cancel a surgery due to a little snow but that is my main concern right now. I have 4-wheel drive and will make it there, I just know I can't control the weather or other people. Well let's just hope the snow holds out and I can have this life changing miracle.

I am looking forward to all the things this will allow me to do: TOP 10
1. sit on a roller coaster 2. go to the pool in the summer 3. play basketball with my kids 4. fit in a chair while waiting at the bank (and other places) 5. shop for normal sizes 6. stop embarassing my kids with my size 7. run in the park 8. get the good job, because I look more presentable 9. take a dance class without everyone staring at me 10. go up and down stairs and be able to breath normally when i'm done. AND SOOO MUCH MORE

2 weeks until surgery, I hope.....

Dec 27, 2010

I got a call and my insurance has approved the surgery. The surgeon's secretary called that same week and told me to start my 2 week liquid diet and made me two appts for the pre-op testing. Gave me a surgery date for Jan.10, 2011, Few days later I received a letter in the mail about my EGD testing to be scheduled for Feb. 9, a month after my scheduled surgery date~ I have to fix this quickly~ Don't want my surgery date being pushed back anymore. I have already started my liquid diet. I am also having to travel an hour to the doctors over a mountain covered in snow...I can only hope that the roads are clear and It is worth me traveling back and forth so much, want to get a set date so I can stop all the worry....thanks, would appreciate any comments or encouraging words, thanks
