I have been overweight as far back as I can remember. Food was used as a reward in my family. My childhood was not the best.My Parents divorced whenI was 4.I did not see my father at all between the ages of 4 and 14. He was a violent Alcoholic. So I was raised by my mother and Grandmother. I was neither's favorite. I was always attempting to prove myself as the Good Child by finishing my plate and trying to do the right thing. I have risen above that to have a supportive spouse and 2 wonderful children.

On 30 October 2001. I had an RNY. I wanted the surgery so bad I traveled to another town in Texas. The program appeared to more cioncerned about performing as many as they could rather than focusing on the individual.

On November 17, 2001 my mother passed away unexpectedily of a Pulmonary Emboli.

On December 21, 2001 my father passed away of Lung cancer and Pulmonary Fibrosis.

In February and March of 2002 I lost 2 brother-in laws. In July of 2002 I had to put my precious Pug of 10 years to sleep. In 2002 I was miserable at the job I had at that time. After 4 years of No raises. I now have a job I am extremely happy with.

I have found a surgeon close to where I live and am planning a revision soon. I have had an Upper GI, Endoscope, And the Psychologists Eval. The Endoscope  indicated 2 Gastric Fistulas, and the part of my stomach and intestine that were supposed to be Bypassed weren't. So Hopefully I will have the revision soon. We are waiting for Insurance Approval. I am nervous about the Insurance. As of January 1 my company is going to another Insurance. The Company was purchased by a large Company with many benefits. So I am scared we may have to start the process over again.

Well the process went quickly,my surgery was on December 26,2006. I was in surgery for 5 hrs,it seems I had numerous adhesions. My pouch is half the size it used to be and is now completely detatched. This is what I wanted all along. Iam 1 week Post Op and have been on clear liquids since the surgery. I have lost approx 12 lbs since the surgery and feel absolutely wonderful. I cannot wait to see how I handle the soft foods since I now have a small stoma and pouch.
