Onward to a New Me!
Jan 23, 2009
That's how everyone titles their blog, I'm sure so original I am not. I am now 11 days post gastric by pass surgery and doing great. I am already down 18 lbs and 10 1/2 inches overall! I just graduated up to pureed diet and never knew cottage cheese would taste so good!
My husband and I with our 2 kids moved down from Canada 25 years ago and who knew I would take the path I have chosen today. I always thought of myself as "well-rounded" in my teens but now can't even perceive myself weighing what I did when we got married almost 36 years ago (128 lbs). Visuals are not a strong point so I will look forward to the actual photo proofs as I embark on the new me!
I have not yet set a goal as I am not sure in numbers what that would be. I just know that at 260 lbs pre op I can't be the involved Nana to my 5 grandchildren that I want to be without paying the pain. I am very involved in their lives and am so looking forward to being around a lot longer now as my improved health continues to improve with my weight continuing to decrease. I have been off all my meds since right before surgery and so far feel great. I can hardly wait to bag up those "big clothes". I'm actually looking forward to the prospect of buying a new bathing suit for Maui on March 1st!
