Day 4 Me : )

Mar 25, 2009

Hey there,

Well today, is a Snow Day combination Flood Day. Yep I know it doesnt make much sense but here in North Dakota it is now becoming quite obvious that Mother Nature is not so very Happy @ the moment cuz she sure can't make up her mind to allow us to have just a tish bit of Spring Time this year.

Talked some with my daughter's they are doing good in school & keeping their credits up. They are going to my sister's for dinner tonight. That should be interesting since my sister is not the greatest cook. She is very good @ being plastic though. Hmm do I sound caddy well it's the truth.

Any ways, I used today to explore the OH website & also stumbled across "The World According to Eggface's" Weblog. It so very todally rocks!!!!!
http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/    Talk above removing some of the fears that I had been building when it comes to "acutally being able to eat once again". Ya know those fears that you will eat only bland protein, over and over & over again, & again. Yes, I am having food cravings just two weeks out from surgery. Yet, to know me one must know that I have grown up cooking. I think I cooked my first egg in the First Grade. I can make one heck of a scrambled egg. My MoM used to sware by it before she passed.

The thing is I am going to have to eat smaller portions, Much smaller portions. Yes, I can eat a Super Sized McDonald's Big Mac. Well I "Used" to be able to do that. I have the potential to do that once again. I know that I need to work on my mindset & that is what I am planning on doing. I am a natural born "Foodie" & I know it and accept it, which means that I now need to learn how to adapt my desire to cook into my desire to look and feel better in a Healthy Way. Rome wasn't built in a day & neither was I.  At least I know that I can adapt Eggface's aka shelly's Porno Pizza, into some rocking new recipes for me. It also sounds like there will be "leftover's", eatable leftovers. So life will not always be Liquid Protein in order to add the correct amounts of proteins into this malabsorption body type that I have now adopted for life.

One of the things that I am realizing is that "Protein Powders" are not all likeable by either flavors or textures by all people. So I have to work on finding something that will work for me. Difficult part is not wanting to part with the cash to find some many possible "YUCK" powdered proteins. It does look like there are some major good "Sugar Free Flavorings" out there that people have already tried and found to be truly good. So thats one major hurdle that probably won't be so huge.

Right now I am craving, Pizza, Avacado, Salsa, Cream Cheese, or maybe even Povolone, those would be the first things that came to mind. Last week it was a very fluffy sharp chedder cheese omelate. It sure is kinda of hard to make a protein drink taste like an omelate even in one's Mind's Eye. Oh but did I try. I did have a very moist scrambled egg. I am totally worried about becoming constipated. OMG did I just say, constipated, yep sure did & it is a worry for me. So I am upping my water intake and trying to include more walking daily.

Well thats it for now, yet I know that I have adopted Eggface's weblog to help me along the way. She has some excellent recipes & thoughts.

I'll check back later for now I am enjoying today off & doing whatever pleases me. (So far so Good)

Note to Self <

Mar 24, 2009

Hey there, Note to self <

Found this on judijmn's profile but am also going to try and utilize this as a way to hopefully use it as a guidance tool. I just don't want to get too stuck on numbers rather than trying to change more of my exercise and established eating habits that need to be most changed.  (chart previously posted by "diminishing dawn", keeping to make me feel better)

PS: Walked my First Mile with "Queenie" today. We did good. It was'nt a marathon but it was the first step of many to come. I have made a new friend which just tops the cupcake in exercise

First Day Back @ Work

Mar 21, 2009

Okay, so today I have to go to work, Lucky me. Aw well it should be a good day and it will help me get in some additional walking without even trying. So that is a major plus. Talked a tish bit with Queenie, that was a blast & a good shot in the arm of good medicine.

I may not have been so very positive or convinced for that matter that I made a good choice by rearranging my insides this last week. Yet, within the last 24 hours I have moved over that speed bump and moved on.

So wish me some luck. I am actually going to hit the mall and pick up a new work shirt.

Talk again a bit later. Oh and since I work where there is a scale I have to take that chance and step on it. I have promised myself I wont do it very often but I am curious.
